All the paperwork is DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Faye and I finally received our last bit of paperwork from the INS, which means that we have one more step before the paperwork goes to China. We have to send our package to the Chinese consulate in Washington D.c. and then it goes to China for the actual adoption. Now what does this mean you might ask? Well the paperwork is being sent to Washington D.C. and this process will take approx. 2 to 3 weeks before it is sent to the adoption agency and then the adoption agency sends all the completed paperwork to China. Once the paperwork is in China it will take approx. 6 to 7 months before we get our referral which will be approx. 8 weeks before we go to pick up our daughter. It is getting very exciting knowing that in as little as 8 to 9 months Faye and I will be parents for the first time. As most of you know this is something that Faye and I have wanted for a long time, so check in often as I will be keeping this page up to date as long as new information is coming.

Welcome to Todd and Faye's adoption page

I figured we would start this page so that hopefully we could keep everyone updated on how the adoption process is going. We are not trying to blow anyone off, we are just trying to make sure that everyone that wants to know how this is going has the right information. This is a very special time for Faye and I, and we want to share the excitement with everyone, but this is sometimes hard to do with lots of people living so far away. We both work full time jobs and this makes it very difficult to talk to everyone. Please feel free to email Faye or I with any questions, but please give us a few days to respond. Todd's email TMSnOHIO@yahoo.com and Faye's email FSterlingRN@yahoo.com. There is a ton of paperwork, also each adoption agency is different. Faye and I chose to use Families thru International Adoptions (FTIA) http://www.ftia.org , they were referred to us by one of Faye's co-workers and it has been a long and difficult (this will definitely test weather you want to adopt or not) experience due to all the paperwork. Faye and I are in the final stages of this adoption which (thanks to Faye) means we will hopefully travel by the end of the year.
